Whats going on - Rubber review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
06/07/2011

An absolute travesty of a film, disc could be better used as a coaster for hot drinks than the drivel burned on the disc.

The film tries to be clever and arty in a very french way and just comes across as idiotic,

Avoid at all costs,it is by no means suitable for main stream audiances.

The only plus that now i will double check my auto recommendations before adding to my rental list!!!!!

The wheels have come off - Rubber review by TE

I watched this after enjoying Quentin Dupieux's recent 'Deerskin Jacket'. Sadly, 'Rubber' is not in the same league, but there is plenty of Dupieux's trademark playfulness and surrealism on display.

He appears to be making some comment on the Hollywood film machine, but it's all too incoherent and whimsical for any real message to get across.

This is a film that could have been much better as a short, maybe 15 minutes long maximum. The central idea (a vengeful, sociopathic rubber car tyre) is fine for a comedy sketch but not for a whole movie.

At least the California desert landscapes are good.

Very flat tyre - Rubber review by AS

Spoiler Alert
30/08/2017

At the beginning of this rubbish some twerp comes on and says it is a homage to 'no reason'. Yes, he actually says that, for no reason whatsoever. There follows a series of unconnected, pointless events, leading to a tyre running around (yes, a tyre, on its own) squashing people. That's it. The writer apparently knew very little about writing; the director apparently knew nothing about directing. Even at only 78 minutes this is a criminal waste of time.
