This is a nicely effective and moody horror chiller, and whilst clearly low budget appears to be well directed, in a similar vein to the earlier films of George Romero. Unfortunately the picture quality on the DVD currently available to rent here is appalling, and gets so bad during some of the darker scenes it's almost impossible to see what's occuring on screen. Should this ever get a remaster or blu ray update I'd strongly recommend checking it out, but until then it's going to take a determined viewer to get through.
I've seen a few bad quality picture DVD's but this one is a new high (or low). The picture is so bad it's barely watchable. Even a 7th generation copied VHS would beat this for picture quality. Oh, the film itself? I only got 20 mins in before I had to stop watching, the picture quality was hurting my eyes.
