Stardate: the 23rd Century. Retired Starfleet officers James T. Kirk, Montgomery Scott (James Doohan) and Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig) are guests of honor aboard the newly christened Enterprise-B. A test run takes an unexpected turn, however, when the starship encounters two vessels trapped inside the Nexus, a mysterious energy ribbon. During a perilous rescue attempt, Kirk (William Shatner) is swept out into space. Seven decades later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of Enterprise-D rescue an El Aurian physicist named Soran (Malcolm McDowell). Unbeknownst to Picard, Soran harbors a deadly plan that includes the destruction of the Enterprise and millions of lives. Now Picard's only hope for a future rests within in the Nexus...and a legendary captain from the past. - Actors:

The Old meets the New - Star Trek: Generations review by AB
The passing of the baton from Kirk to Picard via a (sort of) time vortex that makes everyone so happy that they do not wish to leave - except of course, star ship captains.
Introduces the Next Generation characters into the film franchise and links in well with the people involved in the TNG TV series and their ways of thinking and reacting.
Lots of holes in the plot but sad to see the loss of two of our favourite Klingons, a well-established Captain and *yet another* Enterprise starship crashing. They'll be thinking the name is now jinxed.
