Synopsis:
Brennan (Will Ferrell) and Dale (John C. Reilly) are two middle-aged loafers who are forced to live together when their parents get married. When the reluctant step-siblings' immature antics over TV privileges and personal property take their toll on the marriage, the devious duo hatch a hysterical scheme to reunite the couple. From the people who brought you Talladega Nights and Anchorman, Step Brothers is the hilarious comedy which proves you don't need brains or talent to succeed... well, maybe you do.

A first rate comedy packed full of laughs. - Step Brothers review by CP Customer

Brendan is an immature 39 year old man who still lives with his mother, unable to hold down even the most mundane of jobs he retreats into the child like world of a 12 year old boy. Dale is 40, permanently unemployed, lives with his father and treats his Father’s home like a college fraternity house and his dad as his frat buddy. When Dale and Brendan’s parents meet at a medical conference it soon leads to marriage and the two boys are forced to live together as step-brothers. At first the new step-brothers fight like cat and dog but soon build a friendship as they discover they have a lot in common including a love of music, dinosaurs, sleepwalking, and a mutual hatred of Brendan’s egotistical and pretentious younger brother Derek. Once you get past the ridiculous plotline, this film is a complete riot. Will Ferrell always excels at playing idiotic half-wits, and in this film John C. Reilly matches him all the way, this is easily the best on-screen paring since Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in ‘Dumb and Dumber’ and every bit as funny. There are so many funny scenes and classic throw away lines that you’ll want to see it more than once. The line where Dale compares Brendan’s singing voice to mixture of Fergie and Jesus was pure genius; and the scene where the boys are forced to go for job interviews was nothing short of hysterical. This is a gem of a film, easily the best comedy of recent years and one that will have you laughing from the opening credits right up until the end.

this has to be the most self indulgent movie I have seen, the cast & crew no doubt had a great time making it wouldnt we all love to be kids again! however for the viewer it was absolute drivel I would reccommend it to no one not even the dog, in fact he left the room!
