Not as good as the first one
- The Bourne Supremacy review by CP Customer
Well they often say it, and it's too often sadly true.
This time a little too full of itself, but failed to create any human interest in the lead character and had less precision in fight and chase sequences than the first movie - more excitement available on the DVD extras than the film itself.

Action, good camera work

Well filmed, great fights. It's like watching a pub brawl in an SAS pub in Hertfordshire. Great extras, so you can appreciate what the director's trying to achieve.Worth a couple of watches - 3 in my case.

Clumsy sub-standard thriller.
- The Bourne Supremacy review by CP Customer
Whereas the first film was tightly scripted and well shot, this film relaxes both of these criteria, and settles for the old trick of playing loud dramatic music throughout to try and create tension.
Any trace of human interest or character development in the first film is wiped out as the film tries for the effect of big-action thriller. It fails dramatically, with dull, aggressive car chases and too many dramatic FBI faces.
This is to the action thriller what porn is to the nude portrait.

Tops the First One
- The Bourne Supremacy review by GI
This sequel to The Bourne Identity (2002), shot is an almost documentary style with hand held cameras is the most direct influence on the later Bond reboots with Daniel Craig. It's fast, exciting and an extremely gritty action film and really sets the tone for the entire Bourne series that followed. It certainly ups the game from the originality set in the first film to the way action cinema would be portrayed. In many ways it's a far better film than its predecessor with some of the most earth shattering car chases and occasional shocks in the story. Here we find Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) is hiding out in India with his girlfriend Marie (Franka Potente), he's still trying to piece together his old life with flashbacks and dreams but he's ever watchful for danger. Framed for an assassination in Berlin and finding he's again being hunted by the CIA in the form of boss agent Pamela Landy (Joan Allen) he goes on the attack. The film delivers a big challenge to the then redundant Bond franchise with it's world hopping story, the use of gadgets although here every one is based on a real piece of equipment so there's no fantastical stuff, and it's brilliant espionage story involving corrupt Russian gangsters, murdered politicians and double agents. A fantastic film. If you've never seen this then it's a must.

One of the greatest espionage thrillers ever made... Flawless, staggering perfection
- The Bourne Supremacy review by TB
This film is a masterpiece. Every single second is perfect. From the opening shots of Bourne sharing a moment of peace following traumatic visions with the love of his life, through to the breathless pace as he is chased all over the world by faceless assassins, you are gripped & captivated by every second.
Then, in the final third, the action moves to Russia and culminates in one of the greatest car chases ever put on film.
To me, this film is also responsible for something much more important: without it and it's critical & commercial success, we would never have had the change in tone of the Bond films that were released after it. The Bourne Supremacy literally took Bond, smacked him around and made him/the films into what they became under Daniel Craig, realistic and gritty and meaningful.
I cannot give this film enough credit or reverence. It is one of the greatest action espionage films ever made. Never again did Bourne scale those heights, and Bond rarely came close to it.
Flawless perfection
