- Welcome to the world of The Brothers Bloom, where deception is an art and nothing is as it seems! Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo star as The Brothers Bloom, two notorious and enigmatic connien. Looking to pull off one final con, Bloom (Adrien Brody) and Stephen (Mark Ruffalo) lure naive heiress Penelope (Rachel Weisz) on a journey that lakes them from Athens to Prague, and Mexico to St. Petersburg. With explosives expert Bang Bang (Rinko Kikuchi) providing a back drop of flames and flying bullets and Stephen's elaborate web of deceit pulling tighter, Bloom's feelings for Penelope begin to grow, and he soon starts to wonder if his brother has devised the most dangerous con of bis life.

Unfunny, smug and boring - The Brothers Bloom review by PV
I saw the reviews for this in various newspapers - usually between 3 and 4 stars out of 5 - so I was expecting a comedy. What I watched was a total unfunny mess. It's one of those films that thinks it's hilarious - so 'post-modern' and self-satisfied and smug.
Also, it's like those awful Wes Anderson films which have that Californian vibe about them. Are you illuminated? Well, not by this tripe.
This fim gets 1 star - and that's for the pretty views of Prague!
If you want to watch a REALLY funny film with a pair of conmen, watch the Producers, Paper Moon or Some Like It Hot.

Started well but - The Brothers Bloom review by CP Customer
This should have been a good movie but I nearly stopped the disc after 1/2 hour. It's a confusing mess with no redeeming features. I liked the the first ten minutes or so but went downhill from then.
