Rent The Comfort of Strangers (1990)

Actually think this is an unheralded masterpiece. Christopher Walken is utterly terrifying and the film itself is chilling and mesmeric.
Although nicely crafted it is quite a lethargic movie. Most of the viewing time was spent waiting for something to happen. I would liken it to watching paint dry but was taken aback when the paint hit the fan at the end! Filmed in the beautiful city of Venice, although it was filmed twenty seven years ago, I did wonder how they had managed to avoid all the tourists that must have been around even then.
