Synopsis:
Irene Jacob is utterly captivating in the twin roles of Veronique and Weronika, two young women leading totally separate lives in France and in Poland, yet each strangely aware of the other's presence. Despite their different backgrounds, the two share not only many of the same likes, foibles and prodigious musical talents, but also the same wisdom, inspiring one to unconsciously avoid making the same mistakes in life as the other.

One of Kieslowski's best movies - The Double Life of Veronique review by CP Customer

If you have been lucky enough to experience and enjoy some of the other films of Krzysztof Kieslowski then you simply cannot miss this movie - for me this film is better than his three colours trilogy and as some people will be aware those films are very highly rated by many - this director is able to capture the essence of humanity on screen better than any other

A transcendental film about two identical young women (Irene Jacob) who live materially unconnected but similar lives, one in Paris, the other in Warsaw, with contrasting but linked destinies.

This ethereal film is a mystical experience which speaks to us in a visual, impressionistic language.

It is an exquisite, metaphysical poem from the great Krzysztof Kieslowski. Irene Jacob is luminescent in the demanding dual roles.

As much a vision as a film. A quiet, meditative and incredibly beautiful experience.

Two for one. - The Double Life of Veronique review by RhysH

Double Life is an enigmatic and always intriguing film. This doppelgänger story has an emotional intensity without ever descending into histrionics. There is no attempt to unravel uncertainty; just watch and let it all flow in. The cinematography is poetic.

Irène Jacob is a wonderful beauty without the need of any embellishment.
