- The story of war hero Jan Nowak (Philippe Tlokinski). A man of extraordinary courage who served as an emissary between the commanders of Poland's Home Army resistance movement and the Polish Government in Exile in London at the height of the Second World War, Jan came to be known as "The Messenger from Warsaw". Hunted by all the Axis Powers' secret services, he is smuggled out of Poland with a mission to make his way to London with information which would decide the fate of Poland and the war, meeting people along the way who will change his life forever.

Interesting but Flawed film about Poland at the end of WWII - The Resistance Fighter review by PV
This film is overlong - it is also rather confusing. I'd suggest adding LONDON or WARSAW or ITALY or whatever on the screen in a caption when location changes.
I found some of it confusing, esp with the female characters. Subtitles were prone to error too.
However, it is worth watching, together with various BATTLE FOR WARSAW Polish films.
The Winston Churchill here is possibly the worst fictional portrayal I have ever seen, however. It is a Polish film and so there is a fair bit of Brit-blaming - but in reality, no way could Britain or the allies stop Stalin's USSR in Poland.

The Battle for Poland from Polish Eyes - The Resistance Fighter review by CP Customer
Interesting film about the Jan Nowak, an emissary between Poland's Home Army in Poland and the Polish Government in exile in London and the skulduggery that was going on behind the scenes to keep Stalin on board to defeat Hitler. A very marked man by the AXIS powers and hunted relentlessly the film captures a period of his life when he was focused on liberating Poland to be a sovereign state and not become as it did a satellite of Stalin's USSR!
