A fabulous record of life as lived by Sussex farmer Bob Whitehead, his family and his flock of Kent sheep. Lambs are born and reared by their mothers or fostered. Hay is made, the flock is shorn and the other routine tasks all come in their turn as the seasons roll by. The family, the farm, the village and the countryside are inter-related elements which by sustaining each other become moulded together in a unity. The pleasures of the village fete complete with brass band, the village shop, ringing the bells or a few pints in the pub are as much part of life as dipping the sheep or trimming their feet.
