Christmas is a time for family, friends and festive cheer. Not so for Cinnamon, a little Maltese puppy who wants to keep her 'mummy' all to herself and break up her newly blossoming relationship. When an unlucky-in-love university professor, Madeline (Cynthia Gibb), meets an equally single architect, Kevin (Greg Evigan), an unlikely romance begins to grow. What nobody expects is that Madeline's puppy, Cinnamon, has other ideas. Not wanting to lose Madeline to romance, crafty little Cinnamon spoils dates whenever she can in order to keep Madeline all to herself. Joining forces with Kevin's young son, little Cinnamon has her chance to ruin the relationship completely when Kevin agrees to take care of her and she runs away.
