- Synopsis:
Real-life husband and wife Michael Williams and Judi Dench star in this delightful ITV romantic comedy series about finding true love in middle age. Laura Dalton (Judi Dench) is a bright professional translator with a good career who's quite content to be single even though she's middle aged. Mike Selway (Michael Williams) is a landscape gardener by profession, shy by nature and no-one's idea of a 'good catch'. The couple would probably never have met if it weren't for the meddling of Laura's younger sister Helen (Susan Penhaligon) and her husband Phil (Richard Warwick). They decide to get Laura married off before it's too late - and conspire to bring them together at a party... For Mike and Laura, it's hardly what you'd call love at first sight - but they pretend to like each other just to escape Helen and Phil's meddling. Now that they've met, however, maybe - just maybe - there might be the faintest of sparks between them after all... - Actors:
