Rent A Fine Romance: Series 2 (1982)

Husband and wife team and Royal Shakespeare Company players Dame Judi Dench and Michael Williams star in this fondly-remembered comedy series from the early 1980's. She plays Laura, who is thirty-seven and unmarried. He plays Mike, also single. Laura's sister, Helen, (Susan Penhaligon) is keen to see Laura 'married off' and introduces her to Mike at a party. The relationship is awkward but they pretend they are getting along well to keep Helen happy... After Helen and Phil's matchmaking in the first series, Laura and Mike are battling along with a patchy relationship. This series sees them beginning to live together and as their romance blossoms we see the inevitable cracks appear.
