- Synopsis:
- The week before Christmas a rising business executive, Jake Peterson (Tim Matheson), is given a make-or-break assignment when he is sent to his hometown to secretly assess who should be fired from the local assembly plant for the sake of the company profits.
However, upon his arrival, Jake is treated like a hero when the townsfolk mistake him as someone sent to save rather than destroy their community. Added complications arise when he meets and falls in love with Emma (Melissa Gilbert), a young widow whose father manages the factory.
