- Plagued by nightmares, celebrated artist Leonardo (Franco Nero) takes rest in his new villa on advice from his lover, Flavia (Vanessa Redgrave). He begins researching the local legend of a promiscuous countess who died in his house. Meanwhile, Flavia encounters a series of mysterious accidents.
