This Collector's Edition video brings together an exclusive documentary about the Queen's Jubilee portrait with two beautiful archive films, creating a stunning package fitting of this momentous occasion. Filmed in 2012, 'The Portrait' documents artist Phil Richards as he creates an official portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for her Diamond Jubilee. Directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Hubert Davis, The Portrait is joined in this special edition video by two classic films about the royal family. The first film shows Princess Elizabeth on her inaugural Royal visit to Canada in 1951. Entitled 'A Royal Journey', this archive film charts the 33 day excursion the made by the 25 year old Princess and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh. The second film is a colour broadcast of the Queen's Coronation in 1953, a wonderful record of a historic event. A Royal Journey - The Queen's Diamond Jubilee is created by the National Film Board of Canada in partnership with the Department of Canadian Heritage and Canada Post.
