Alice Jordan has the 'perfect' life: a handsome husband, three adorable children, a beautiful house set in the heart of an idyllic English village. But her life lacks one vital thing: a perfect love, one which makes her feel vibrantly alive and a necessary part of the world. And she finds that love - but not in the arms of another man. She finds it in Clodagh, wild-child daughter of the local gentry. She and Alice embark on a passionate physical affair and, for the first time, Alice finds herself genuinely in love.
