The West Coast mainline has for years always attracted railway enthusiasts to its stations and line side locations. With it's 401 mile route from London's Euston Terminal Station to Glasgow Central in Scotland all manner of freight and passenger traffic can be seen and photographed on this ever changing premiere line to the North. Filmed over a three year period from 2000 to 2003, we visit no less than 9 locations - all are displayed with details. In 2003 we see Virgin's newly introduced Class 390 Pendolino 390014 (City of Manchester) working a minimal Manchester Piccadilly to Euston service together with the celebrated Class 86 and 87 and not forgetting the venerable Class 43 or better known HST125s - as usual Virgin Trains put on a sterling show. Also in this programme we take an extensive look at the freight scene which has always been the life blood of our railways, classes of freight locomotives, both electric and diesel motive power can be seen on this line - they include 37, 47, 57, 66, 86, 90 and 92.
