- Synopsis:
A blazing hot summer of 1989 in eastern Germany. Adam (Florian Teichtmeister) works as a tailor and photographer, his pretty girlfriend Evelyn (Anne Kanis) is a waitress. The two want to spend their holiday at Lake Balaton. Only the women love Adam's beautiful clothes and sometimes him. When Adam gets caught with another, she goes without him with a girlfriend and her West cousin to Hungary. To save the relationship, Adam climbs into his aged Wartburg and travels after her. When Hungary unexpectedly opens the borders to Austria, the flight to the West becomes an unimagined possibility. Existing certainties seem to be dissolved, new promises are emerging. Evelyn feels new hope, Adam looks forward to a fresh start with little enthusiasm. Adam and Evelyn have to decide. - Actors:
