“When he cuts out that’s when I cut in.” - The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad review by LJ

Nearly all the Disney cartoons of the 1940s were anthologies. This one is half The Wind In The Willows and half Sleepy Hollow. The adaptation of The Wind In The Willows has the audacity to start in a library with an actual copy of the book yet what follows has almost zero relation to the novel. The adaptation of Sleepy Hollow fares better because it’s easier to be faithful to a short story and because Bing Crosby’s narration is entertaining. I can’t see this being anyone’s favourite Disney movie though.
