- Synopsis:
- Elinor Carlisle, a beautiful and charming young woman, receives an anonymous letter warning her that she risks being cut out of her aunt Laura's will. Someone, the letter claims, is ingratiating themselves with the ailing woman in older to inherit her money. Many people stand to benefit from Laura Welman's legacy -or so it seems. First, it transpires that Laura made no will. Then it is discovered that her death was not from natural causes after all. A second murder soon follows. Hercule Poirot has to use every bit of his talent as a detective to find the real killer before time runs out. But everyone he speaks to appears to be telling lies...
