Synopsis:
This refreshing production of 'Aida' by the master of extravaganza, Franco Zeffirelli, comes from Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto, Verdi's birthplace. The roles are sung by talented young performers such as Kate Aldrich and Scott Piper to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Verdi's death. Despite the small size of this wonderful theater Zeffirelli realized what he does best: a spectacle. Conducted by Massimiliano Stefanelli the Orchestra and Chorus of the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini convince with an overwhelming performance. And when it comes to the final duet between the two lovers, Adina Aaron and Scott Piper do it with a plomb in a tender and very moving way.
