Synopsis:
Between bouts of longing for his mother's (Elizabeth Perkins) love and his father's address, he fantasises about enhancing his romantic prospects. First, he buys a bed from the oversexed Ma Mabley (Deborah Harry), who offers to help him break it in. Before long, he becomes involved with struggling actress Lisa (Mandy Moore). However, it's the enigmatic Jane (Franka Potente), a photographer, and a few years older than he, who really gets his pulse racing. When Jane has a car accident and her ex-boyfriend shows up on his motorcycle, things get complicated. Jones enlists the aid of Brad (Aaron Pearl), his wacky downstairs neighbour, and they concoct a scheme that could get him what he wants... and a lot more!

A quirky coming of age tale. - All I Want review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
26/11/2005

A quirky coming of age comedy drama about seventeen year old 'Jones Dillon', who drops out of college on his first day, and decides to rent an apartment in an old boarding house. Jones pays a whole year of rent up front and moves in with his only possessions, a trunk and a typewriter that belonged to his unknown father. Jones spends his days fantasising about his life, writing letters he will never send to his absent father, and phoning his flamboyant alcoholic mother. He slowly befriends the various tenants who inhabit the other apartments within the boarding house and starts to discover his own path in life. The plot is pretty weak and somewhat predictable, but overall 'All I Want' is an enjoyable enough fun little film.
