Co-created by England World Cup legend Gary Lineker, this six-part drama takes as its setting the glamorous world of international football. A joint British-Spanish production based on Lineker's own rise to fame during the 1980's, 'All in the Game' follows the mixed fortunes of an English striker who goes to play for Barcelona F.C., with Lloyd Owen as talented centre-forward Darren Matthews and Warren Clarke as manager Kenny Dawes. As the series opens, things are looking up for Darren: he's just had his best season, and his agent intends to negotiate a much-improved contract with his club. However, chairman Derek Horsfield sees things differently. He certainly can't afford a big rise in his wages bill; in fact, he's not even sure he can afford to hang on to his most worthwhile asset - Darren! When big-time Barcelona move into the transfer market, it seems everyone will be winners. But how will Darren and his fiancee Claire cope with the pressures of joining the European football jet-set?
