- New York yuppie Alex Boyer (Griffin Dunne) is bored with life; his job and his marriage to Erica (Brooke Adams) are on a road to nowhere, and he doesn't know how to shake things up. But when his wife's injured in a car crash, Alex finds himself attracted to the live-in therapist assigned to care for Erica. The resulting tangle prompts an intense round of self-examination from the confused husband in this quintessentially 1980s dramedy.
