An Ideal Husband (1969) Sir Robert Chiltern (Keith Michell) is a successful Government minister, well-off and with a loving wife. All this is threatened when Mrs. Cheveley (Margaret Leighton) appears in London with damning evidence of a past misdeed. Sir Robert turns for help to his friend Lord Goring (Jeremy Brett), an apparently idle philanderer and the despair of his father. Goring knows the lady of old, and, for him, takes the whole thing pretty seriously.
Lady Windermere's Fan (1985) Lord Windermere (Ronald Hines) appears to all - including to his young wife Margaret (Judy Geeson) - as the perfect husband. But their happy marriage is placed at risk when Lord Windermere starts spending his afternoons with an adventuress who is working her way through London's high society, Mrs. Erlynne (Coral Browne). Worse, Windermere gives her big sums of money. To crown it all he asks his wife to invite the detestable woman to her own birthday party. Upset and outraged, the puritan Lady Windermere decides to leave her husband and goes to Lord Robert Darlington (Derek Godfrey), who has been courting her for some time.
