Documentary with a selection of tracks performed by the historic Cuban all-girl group formed in 1937 and whose career lasted till 1989. Playing traditional 'Son' music, Anacaona were a shock to the musical system in 1930's Cuba not only because they were all women, some even minors, but because their music was heavily African-influenced - considered vulgar at the time.
