contains the theatrical version of the film. Most movies with Ferrell are hit and miss, but his style is easily suited to the 70's Anchorman persona. The classic period of when news teams ruled the airwaves and caught the imagination and support of cities. No 24 hour news channels or faceless voice-overs back then, no siree.
This is easily one of his best films and features a star cast, most of whom turn up during the widespread street brawl of rival news channels. The big names keep on going and so do the gags, plus that dog. A strong comedy that Will has yet to better.
Dear God, please! No more Ron Burgundy outtakes at £2.50 per half-hour DVD! Somehow, they've managed to stretch two hours over three DVDs, even with the feature film on the first DVD. At Cinema Paradiso rates that's a tidy £7.50 to rent this "special edition". Be warned!
