Hailed as the Spanish maestro of the guitar, the brilliant virtuoso Angel Romero is known throughout the world as a spectacular performer and the leading classical guitarist of his generation, continuing in the tradition of the great guitar maestro Segovia.
In London, his performances of concertos by Villa-Lobos and Rorigo were called "...the finest live performances of his works in question ever heard in London; clean, strong, eloquently phrased and delivered with unfailingly beautiful tone, his technique seems to know to bounds."
In a career that has spanned almost 40 years since his debut concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 1964 this is one of the few recordings made of a live Angel Romero recital where his performance of driving intensity and flawless control wonderfully demonstrates why is rightly acclaimed as the virtuoso of the Spanish guitar and the leading performer of his generation.
