"Landing the Eagle" - Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Man Landing on the Moon. In 1969 a group of astronauts changed the world. They rode the biggest rocket ever built to the moon. It was the culmination of 10 years of space pioneering and the foundation for more than four decades of exploring worlds beyond our own. As we celebrate 50 years since man first set foot on the Moon's surface we look back on one of NASA's most remarkable moments and acknowledge what a truly phenomenal achievement the completion of Apollo 11's mission was. This program is a fitting tribute to that historic day and pays homage to the bravery of the men and women of the space program. It was made possible by NASA opening its archives and releasing theoriginal footage that recorded the historic journey. There are also fascinating brand new interviews with astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin as they recall the monumental moment when their mission objective was accomplished. It is NASA's finest hour and one of the most triumphant moments in world history.
