"Arpan", an offering of love and devotion. A sacrifice of one's self if called for. Unannounced, silent and committed.This is the story of one such sacrifice by a woman, who placed the happiness of her beloved over and above everything else. Shobha (Reena Roy), a working girl is in love with Anil (Jeetendra), a multi millionaire. When Anil leaves for Germany, he asks Shobha to look after his aged mother and teenage sister, Vini. When Anil's family becomes the target for blackmailers, Shobha unhesitatingly sacrifices herself and marries the debauched and lecherous J. K. When Anil returns he is shocked. He believes that Shobha has married J. K. for the love of money, and taunts and humiliates her. But Shobha is silent. Will Anil ever realize the secret behind Shobha's strange silence?
