After aging John Hodges (Monty Woolley) is forced to retire from his printing company, he can't seem to find anything to do with his time. Aching to get back into the business world, he decides to impersonate the president of his old employer's parent company and head back to his old stomping grounds to make some changes. When he arrives, new president McKinley is thrown for a loop along with his secretary, Harriet (Marilyn Monroe).
