You'll note, curios, rather than great films.
I'm not a frame dimensions buff but this DVD is recorded in what I think is called 'pan and scan'. In other words it was a widescreen movie that has been crammed into a old 4:3 dimension, however you try to show it on your TV.
So who knows? Martin Scorcese may be right. But it's impossible to get involved in a film where, for example, the picture struggles to include more than one face. Not good for the build up of tension.
That said, the Asphyx itself looks as if it could be genuinely creepy - if only you could see the build up to it properly.
