In world war II, The United States with its technological skill and industrial might, designed and manufactured many different aircraft. In the ruthless test of battle certain designs emerged supreme and become fighting legends. The Lockheed P-38 Lighting, P-47 Thunderbolt and the North American Mustang these machines had there own unique designs for there different roles in combat.
F4U Corsair in WWIIThe F4U was in production longer than any other U.S. Fighter of WWII. Truly it was the last and probably the best prop driven fighter. This progamme provides both an expert account of the Corsair's capabilities and a vivid visual record of its combat department with the U.S. Marines and US Navy. Much of it in colour.
P-47 Thunderbolt at War
Republic P-47 Thunderbolt - the seven ton Milk Jug. A mighty mean machine, originally designed for high level interception, but just as deadly as a ground attack aircraft, or in a bomber escort role.
