Yaaawn
- The Aviator review by Swambi
This film attempts to give a biography of Howard Hughes. Although a strange story, I didn't find it inspiring. It lasts about 2 and 1/2 hours (but seems longer)!
Despite being constructed as an epic, the filming and acting fail to engage. The focus is mainly on Howard's involvement with airoplanes - filming, flying, owning, building and crashing. Whether you enjoy the film is likely to depend largely on whether this interests you.
It also outlines his increasing paranoia, relating to obsessive cleanliness and isolation from others. In between there are a few sessions examining his relationships with others, which demonstrate how his wealth and obsessions wrecked any ability to relate meaningfully.

Well Made, But Slow
- The Aviator review by CP Customer
DiCaprio acts well, and the cinematography is generally good. The film, however, is just too slow to be truly enjoyable.

Too long
- The Aviator review by CP Customer
Despite being patient, we both found the film far too long and tedious. Cate Blanchett is not believable in the role, not sure why she got an oscar for that. Just goes to show the oscars don't really mean anything really.
There are some OK parts to the film but it could and should have been under 2 hours. The last 1/2 hour was very enjoyable and interesting, shame we have to wait over hours to see it. It reveals the corruption in American politics which is still happening today.

Slow but interesting!
- The Aviator review by Nikkinoo
Very interesting storyline that does develop very slowly but somehow keeps you glued to the screen! Leo plays the role of movie maker and aviation expert Howard Hughes superbly, with Cate Blanchett playing lover Catherin Hepburn equally well.
In brief this film follows Hughes from the 20's to 40's following his career and his fluctuating mental health. It is highly emotional and everything you expect from a period film of this nature, and a bit more!
