- Rap superstar Ja Rule stars as Reggie, a former gangster who struggles with the sudden and brutal loss of his father. Distraught and vowing vengeance, Reggie leaves his privileged life and seeks the help of an old friend, J-Bone (Ving Rhames), a cold-blooded criminal recently released from prison. But when Reggie falls for the daughter of a local preacher, he finds himself forced to choose between the woman he loves and the life of crime he once led... back in the day.
