- Part husky and part wolf, Balto doesn't know where he belongs. He's an outcast in Alaska, except to his true friends: Boris, the Russian snow goose, polar bear cubs Muk and Luk and the beautiful husky, Jenna. One day, a serious illness spreads among the children of Nome and when a team of sled dogs racing six-hundred miles through the fierce blizzard to bring back medicine get lost, only Balto can rescue the team and save the children. 'Balto' is based on the remarkable true story of a hero who inspired a nation and became a legend.
