- Synopsis:
- Rookie soldier Bill (Elisha Cook Jr.) gives his buddy Pete (Peter Whitney) advice on how to deal with his fears going into combat for the first time. The rest of the film follows Pete's interior monologue as he comes under fire, witnesses death and maiming all around him, and finally is forced into hand-to-hand combat with German soldiers. He has a hard time but eventually conquers his nerves enough to fight.
