Kim (Deanna Durbin) is a sweet young waitress who dreams of being a big Hollywood star. Fate lends a hand when famed actor John Sheridan (Charles Laughton) walks into the place where she works. She tricks him into signing a letter of introduction to a successful Broadway producer, thinking he's giving her his autograph! But when Kim bluffs her way into the offices of producer Charles Gilbert (Stanley Ridges), her little white lies lead to utter confusion! Before she knows it, she's up for the starring role in a new play, there's a party being thrown in her honour - and everyone believes she's going to be married to John Sheridan! Poor Kim does her best to bluff her way through - but when Paul returns to New York she suddenly has a lot of explaining to do! - Actors:
