Synopsis:
Recorded September 21-28, 1983 in Berlin.
Beethoven is widely held to be one of the world's most influential composers of classical music. His musical stature and dominance is without rival and certainly his impact can be heard in much classical music written during the past 150 years. His 9th Symphony 'Choral', which includes the Ode To Joy, is probably his most famous work, conducted here by Herbert Von Karajan and performed by the Berlin Philharmoniker.
