When Natalie's mother is brutally murdered she runs away from her hometown in Boston.Ten years down the line she now lives a closed lonely life alone. But Natalie is broke and her friend Julia persuades her to return to Boston. Natalie has spent many years building up a wall around herself to forget the past and coming face-to-face with her arrogant, manipulative brother, Roy, is the last thing she wants. Natalie's immediate reaction is to leave to get away from his rage. However Roy is terminally ill and desperately needs her to stay. Feeling compelled to help Roy in his hour of need they rekindle their sibling friendship and with Roy's help Natalie finally builds up the courage to re-live the past and face the tragic truth of her father's violence and just how their mother died.
