Now that's what you call a comeback! From bottom to top in little over a year. Leeds Rhinos captured the Betfred Super League Grand Final with a devastating display led by departing skipper Danny McGuire, who guided his team to victory in a sensational farewell performance. The outcome was hard on Castleford who had dominated throughout the regular season. The Tigers claimed their first ever League Leaders' Shield and boasted Steve Prescott Man of Steel Luke Gale in their ranks, but the Rhinos experience told on a rainy night in Manchester. The race to Old Trafford had been a close one. Hull FC almost reached another showpiece event following their back-to-back success in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup, while St. Helens' revival under Justin Holbrook took them to within seconds of the final. Ultimately, it was the season's top two who went head-to-head in front of over 72,000 supporters and two tries apiece from Tom Briscoe and McGuire meant both he and Rob Burrow could bow out with the biggest prize of all for an incredible eighth time.
