In the heart of Kenya's magnificent Masai Mara, three specialist teams led by Jonathan Scott, Simon King and Saba Douglas-Hamiliton, observe the daily lives and adventures of Africa's big cats. As the unfolding stories are intercut into a compelling diary of life in the wild, we witness the animals' struggle for survival - their battles for territory, the search for food and shelter and the perils of raising cubs with predators all around...
Week 1 Simba, the sole male in the 30-strong Marsh Pride of lions, is chased away leaving the young lioness Bibi and her two tiny cubs in peril - can he re-take the territory? Meanwhile Kike the cheetah is trying, once again, to raise a litter of cubs and Bella the leopard, also with two hungry cubs to feed, is welcoming the wildebeest migration as it crosses the river.
Week 2 Lion cub Cheza leads cousin Sala into all sorts of trouble including a huge herd of angry buffalo; Kike's three cheetah cubs are now out on their own - trying to stay clear of the army of hyenas, lions and vultures out to get them, while adolescent leopard Chui is also going solo and having to contend with crocodiles and angry buffaloes.
"Bella and her Cubs": The moving story of Bella, a seven-year old leopard and mother of two vulnerable young cubs
"Cheza and Sala's Family History": Two-month-old lion cub Sala and his cousin, five-month old Cheza, are inseparable, full of mischief and dangerous exploits
