Truly one of the "Superstars" of the twentieth century Bing Crosby appeared in over 100 films and recorded an incredible 1900 records. Bing cut his teeth on the vaudeville and theatre stage in New York before moving into the world of movies. His first recording was made in 1926 and was followed by at least one recording every year for the next fifty-one years. His recording of "White Christmas" made the American pop charts twenty years running between 1942 and 1962. Bing Crosby became not just a recording star, a film star but also a TV star and will always be remembered for his Christmas Specials. In an amazing full life he also financed the development of tape, thus revolutionising the recording industry and created the longest running pro-am golf tournament raising millions for charity. Bing Crosby's last recording was for the BBC just four days before he collapsed on a Spanish Golf Course on October 14th 1977. Bing Crosby - A true legend.
