- Synopsis:
- Based on a Chinese short story, this dark comedy set in 1920's Ireland centers on Harry Maloney (Colm Meaney), a bitter man in search of a purpose after the death of his wife and son. So Maloney sets out to destroy pub owner and town matchmaker George O'Flaherty (Adrian Dunbar). But when Maloney requires O'Flaherty to broker a marriage for his handsome but dimwitted son (Cillian Murphy), his irrational hatred for the man doubles.
