Uwe Boll has made a career out of bringing movie versions of video games to the big screen. While his approach has given us at best several below average films, Bloodrayne is one of the worst by far.
The modest budget is all too visible but a decent cast has been assembled to tell the tale of this half human/vampire and the struggle against darkness. Unfortunately the plot is riddled with a clunky script, cheap CGI, poor fight sequences and pedestrian directing.
The game itself was always limited on plot and normally involved the fight against the Nazi menace but here Bloodrayne is up against vampires and their supporters in ancient times. As with the games this film will only appeal to Bloodrayne's traditional demographic i.e. teenage boys.
