Triple-bill of documentaries looking at the aircraft of RAF Bomber Command during the Second World War. "The Story of the Lancaster" recounts the history of the most successful bomber aircraft of the entire war, capable of carrying more than its own weight in bomb load. "Vickers Wellington" looks at the versatile twin-engine bomber which served in every theatre of war, used by Bomber, Coastal and Transport Command. Finally, "RAF Bomber Command" looks at the history of the service, which carried the war to Hitler's Germany in the early years when Britain fought alone, and who suffered the greatest casualty rate of any service in the entire war. Includes rare archive material from British and German sources, as well as rare footage, illustrative maps and graphics, and a military analysis by Robin Clifton from Warwick University.
