- Synopsis:
Borgen is a Danish political drama titled for the nickname of Christainsborg Palace, the Danish equivalent of the Houses of Parliament, where unsuspectingly politician Birgitte Nyborg finds herself elected as Denmark’s first female Prime Minster. After a backhanded media ploy goes wrong, turning the public against the two major parities in Denmark Nyborg finds herself in the running for the top job despite being leader of the minority Moderate party. The condescension and male chauvinism she faces on a daily basis Nyborg’s political career is the least of her worries with her husband, feeling second-best to the politics, demands a divorce and Nyborg discovers her PR manager has been involved in some under-the-table bargaining. - Actors:
