In 1958 music changed forever with the release of Chega De Saudande. Written by Antonio Carlos ‘Tom’ Jobim and lyricist Vinicius de Moraes, the song was first recorded by Elizete Cardoso, and soon after made famous by Joao Gilberto. No one could have predicted what was to follow – the hushed sound of bossa nova rapidly swept the musical landscape and seduced the rest of the world. Two important songwriters of the time, Carlos Lyra and Roberto Menescal, take us back to the places, events and people who inspired and created classics such as The Girl From Ipanema, Desafinado and One Note Samba. Featuring new live performances from Johnny Alf, Joao Donato, Alaide Costa, Wande Sa, Billy Blanco, Joyce, Cris Delano and Kay Lyra, as well as interviews and rare archive footage, Bossa Brazil: Stories Of Love is an exceptional account of music's most beloved and successful phenomena of the past 50 years.
