Tony Palmer directs this controversial film which re-imagines the personal life of the great composer Johannes Brahms. Warren Mitchell plays the ageing Brahms, who looks back at his passionate but unrequited love for Clara Schumann, wife of composer Robert Schumann, and discusses his predilection for the prostitutes of Vienna, whom he describes affectionately as his 'little singing girls'.
